Nico vond op www.prewarcar.com het autootje...

During the swinging sixties Martin Jubb from the USA traveled a lot in Europe and took pictures of old cars wherever he went. In Ostend, Belgium he snapped this little Rosengart. At first sight nothing special, as around that time still many old bangers were to be found on the streets. But looking better at this picture we spotted a hand-written sign on the door, saying ‘La Chèvre Folle’ (‘De Dolle Geit’ in Flemish or ‘Mad Goat’ in English). In the 1960s ‘La Chèvre Folle’ was an important art gallery in Ostend, where many young and as yet unknown artists, including Appel and Corneille, found a platform to display their art. The gallery has long since been demolished, but on that same spot there’s still a sculpture of a goat’s head. Maybe one of our Belgian readers knows more about this Rosengart? Does it still exist?
